Major Duties
Under general supervision, the Internship Program Coordinator empowers students to clarify life and career goals through individualized guidance and experiential learning opportunities. This role develops innovative programming, fosters partnerships with employers and campus stakeholders, and equips students with the skills, resources, and experiences necessary to successfully transition from college to the workforce.
- Coordinates internship program, organizes, and provides support for experiential learning programs to foster career readiness, engagement, and student success. Creates opportunities for campus-wide collaboration around experiential learning concepts. Researches, develops, executes, and evaluates programs and develops job fairs, networking events, and workshops.
- Assists students in clarifying life and career goals through individual and group counseling with an emphasis on career readiness for experiential learning. Provides comprehensive, culturally informed counseling, administers career assessments, and applies advanced counseling skills and crisis intervention techniques.
- Conducts outreach and informs faculty, staff, and employers about internship and career development concepts. Collaborates on programming, promotes the Career Center to off-campus constituents, and assists in training faculty and staff to make appropriate referrals.
- Administers and analyzes the annual Job Locator Survey and experiential learning outcomes. Reviews programs and activities to ensure effective learning outcomes and prepares reports to support departmental assessment efforts.
- Represents the Career Center at professional conferences, researches labor market trends, composes materials, supports fundraising efforts, and completes other assigned responsibilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field. Upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution, where such are job-related, is preferred.
- Equivalent of three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience.
- A Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
- Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience with internship and workability programs preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of experiential learning practices, career readiness competencies, and program development strategies, with the ability to design, deliver, and evaluate innovative co-curricular programs, workshops, and events that align with institutional goals.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse campus and community stakeholders; skilled in organizing and supporting student staff, utilizing career development technologies, and serving as an effective liaison through outreach and resource promotion.
- In-depth knowledge of career counseling theories, multicultural counseling practices, and professional ethical standards; ability to provide culturally responsive guidance that supports diverse student populations in clarifying academic, career, and personal goals.
- Strong counseling and crisis intervention skills with the ability to administer and interpret career assessments, design individualized interventions, and foster student growth, resilience, and confidence in career decision-making.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

- Classification: Student Services Professional III / 3084 / 1
- The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $5540 - $5700 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $5540 - $7893 per month.
- HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
- This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
- The position is currently hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
